Transport and Receipt Requirements
To guarantee adequate protection of both parties, the following instructions, which regulate the conduct of the Clients regarding the Sending and Receiving of the goods, should be followed. The instructions are divided in two sections, a summary and a more detailed section. Read both sections to see the rules and liabilities of both the Sender and the Receiver.
We have provided a link page of the major International Couriers and Foreign Postal Couriers.
Summary
The following points have to be fulfilled:
Please read the following paragraphs for the liabilities of both the Sender and Receiver.
In Detail
The Postal Address
Send to the address which is shown on your transaction page.
For security reasons Escrow! will not send e-mails containing postal addresses.
Other methods of obtaining addresses are not recognised by Escrow!.
The goods sent to Escrow! will be returned to the sender at the senders expense.
Postal Confirmation
The
Sender must use a courier that allow Escrow! to
directly confirm the dispatching of the goods with
the courier company's web site. Take note, for
national and international postage both, the
shipment and arrival,
must be shown on the web site.
The day of despatching, Escrow! must be given a reference number or tracking number.
The Sender is responsible for the goods until the Receiver, his agent or appointee, receives them. If the Receiver declares to have not received the goods the Sender has to provide the proof
of sending and consignment. A signed receipt is the only undeniable proof that the goods had been delivered.
The Inspection Period begins at 12:01 on the working day after the delivery, as indicated by the courier. Without the mailing receipt (e.g. the tracking number) the Inspection Period cannot commence.
Escrow! will not release the payment until 1. the Receiver has approved the purchase
or 2. the Inspection Period is not concluded.
Insurance
The Sender is responsible for the goods until they are
received. Thus we recommend that the goods be insured for their entire value. Escrow! is not responsible for loss or damages during the mailing or transport.
Delivery
The Receiver is responsible for providing Escrow! with detailed information of the address where the goods are to be sent. The Receiver has to notify Escrow! immediately of any changes of address.
The Receiver is responsible for assuring that someone is available to receive or collect the goods promptly from the courier. If someone signs for the collection of the goods, on behalf of the Receiver, the Receiver is responsible all the same for their consignment and the Inspection Period will begin.
The Receiver is responsible for notifying Escrow!, within the time established by the Inspection Period, of any dispute about the information coming from the mailing company.
If the goods are damaged, and the postage and packing is covered by an insurance, the Receiver has to immediately notify the Sender, Escrow! and the courier company. The insurance company will inform the Receiver how to proceed. The Receiver must also keep the merchandise and all the packaging to show the insurance company. If the postage and packing has not been insured the sender is responsible for reimbursing or refunding the cost.
* The terms Receiver and Sender refer to the registered Buyers and Sellers that are using the Escrow! Service. The Buyer and Seller can be either the Sender or Receiver according to the circumstances. For either situation the same rules
apply.
